Month 1 of Wedding Planning - The Church

We have finally confirmed the church for our wedding!  I'm very excited about this!  We are going to get married at St. Mary's Cathedral in Austin!  The church is beautiful and is not too big.

This is the inside of the cathedral.  It has beautiful wooden benches and a great look.

The Church is at 10th and San Jacinto.

The wedding planning process has been very interesting.

Top 10 Realizations from Month 1 or Wedding Planning:

1.  I have too much family
2.  We must have alcohol at the reception (duh!) but you would be surprised....
3.  Spending time with our families is emotionally draining even though we love them!
4.  I am very very picky!
5.  Don't talk to me if you just told me that the place that I want to have my wedding at is way to expensive!  Though I know you are right...I still don't want to hear it.  :(
6.  I will make the final decision!  But sure, feel free to give me your opinion before I make that decision - just don't get mad if I disagree!
7.  There is not enough time for wedding planning and school but that still isn't enough motivation to get me to delegate
8.  We would love to invite everyone we've ever met to our wedding...but it's just not going to happen
9.  Our friends are great because they have great advice and let us/me vent!
10.  We are going to need a honeymoon after this year is over!

Law School Orientation

So....I have survived the first three days of law school - barely.  Last week I attended Law School Orientation and learned some very valuable lessons:

-Don't write on the walls (really people?!?)
-Gum does not go under the table or chair
-Don't plagiarize (duh)
-Don't have pizza or take out delivered to the library (I had to cancel my order immediately)
-The library shelves in the individual study rooms are not strong enough to hold 2 bodies on top of each other (apparently this has been tested and proved)
-I should watch the movie Paper Chase (anyone seen this?)
-Men in law school still pee on the floor (why I had to listen to a 10 minute lecture to men about missing the urinal is a wonder to me)
-Tort comes from the word torture (any indication of what the semester will hold)
-Directional signs for parking and arrows to the law school building should not be put up on the 1st day of orientation, but instead on the 3rd - once everyone knows where they are going. (Welcome to TSU)
-Do not try to do anything in advance when it comes to financial aid - your efforts will be thwarted by the financial aid adviser

These are just some of the basics that I though you would enjoy!

I also spent 2 days learning to brief and practicing, only to find out that all of our professors hate the orientation format and don't want us to do it that way - my thoughts - aren't you all part of the same faculty?  Don't you talk to each other?!?

I will include more later on my first week - once it is over!
